Penny Shortage Policy

The time will come when we won’t have pennies to use in cash transactions.
Since pennies are no longer being made, we eventually won’t be able
to get pennies from our bank. When we get to that point, Memory
Bound will round cash transactions to the nearest nickel. For example:
.21 and .22 will round to .20
.23 and .24 will round to .25

Rounding is done on the grand total of the transaction. Rounding
is not done on the individual items in your purchase.

When rounding occurs it will show as a line item on your
receipt, so you can see it.

Sales tax amounts on cash transactions are not impacted because
sales tax is calculated before rounding occurs.

Note that non-cash transactions (credit cards, debit cards, & gift cards)
will not be rounded. Those transactions will remain exact to the penny.
