Please check your address for any typos. Another common issue is that the street address is listed twice, so please ensure the street address is listed only once.
| | How to disassemble a Little Golden Book | If you are trying to make an album out of a Little Golden Book, the first step is to disassemble the Little Golden Book. There are many ways to do this, but this method is known to work.
Tools Needed:
- Flat-head screwdriver
- Wirecutters
- Hammer
- Pliers
Steps:
- Lay the book face down, and open the back cover so it opens away from you.
- Insert the screwdriver between the pages and the spine, aiming for the center of the staple. Gently pry the staple ends up...just enough to loosen it. Repeat for second staple.
- With the back cover still open and flat on the table, use your thumbs to pry the spine up off of the staples. Keep your thumbs close to the staple, and do one staple at a time.
- Grasp the full set of inner pages, wiggle them and tug firmly to pull the entire set of pages off the staples at once. Use the palm of your other hand to hold the front cover down while you pull the pages up.
- Use the wirecutter to cut off one end of each staple. Cut it as short as possible.
- Use the hammer to gently tap down on the cut end of each staple. Try to flatten it so it bends away from the long staple end. This will make the staples easier to pull out.
- Hold the book firmly down using the palm of one hand. Then with the other hand, firmly grasp the long end of the staple with the pliers, and pull horizontally. You may need to twist the staple a bit to loosen it. Tug hard and the staple should pop out without doing much damage to the spine. Repeat for second staple.
